Filament Instructions
How to get the best results from your filament.
1. Secure your filament properly during storage by either inserting the end into the spool start eye or using a clip. This prevents the formation of knots in your filament.
2. Filaments tend to absorb moisture, leading to steam pockets that hinder plastic flow during extrusion. Keep your filament dry by using a filament dry box or placing it in an oven on a baking or wooden tray at 60 degrees Celsius for 4 to 8 hours. Repeat this process every 2 days if your filament is exposed to air.
3. Ensure your hot end is appropriately adjusted for the material being printed, maintaining the expected temperature. Printing too hot can lead to chemical and aesthetic degradation of the polymer, while printing too low can stress the extruder, causing slipping, stepper overheating, and clogging.
4. Protect your filament from static and airborne particles by storing spools in dust-free areas. Dust accumulation can result in clogged extruder nozzles.
5. Discovering the optimal printing range for each filament color is crucial. We’re actively developing objects and printing programs to assist you in finding the best settings for your printer.
