SA Filament 95A TPU Filament – Black – 1.75mm | 1kg

R489.00

Flexible TPU | Shore 95A | Tough & Impact Resistant | Excellent for Functional Parts | Proudly South African

The SA Filament 95A TPU Filament is a flexible thermoplastic polyurethane designed for applications that require a combination of elasticity, toughness, impact resistance and durability.

With a Shore hardness of 95A, this material is softer and more flexible than 98A TPU, making it particularly suitable for parts that need to bend, compress or absorb repeated impacts without cracking.

It is an excellent choice for flexible covers, seals, grommets, bumpers, grips, vibration-damping components, protective parts and functional prototypes.

What Does 95A TPU Mean?

The 95A rating refers to the material’s Shore A hardness.

Compared with firmer flexible filaments such as 98A TPU, 95A TPU provides:

  • Greater flexibility
  • Softer finished parts
  • More compression
  • Better rubber-like behaviour
  • Greater ability to bend and deform

This makes it ideal for applications where a rigid plastic would not provide enough movement or cushioning.

Flexible & Elastic

95A TPU can bend and flex repeatedly without behaving like a brittle rigid plastic.

This makes it particularly useful for:

  • Flexible covers
  • Protective sleeves
  • Bumpers
  • Grommets
  • Bushings
  • Seals
  • Flexible connectors
  • Grips
  • Anti-slip feet
  • Wearable components

Excellent Impact Resistance

Because TPU can deform under impact, it can absorb knocks and drops more effectively than many rigid materials.

This makes 95A TPU a good choice for:

  • Protective guards
  • Equipment covers
  • Phone and electronics accessories
  • Tool protection
  • Shock-absorbing components
  • Protective housings
  • Workshop parts

Vibration & Shock Absorption

The softer nature of 95A TPU makes it particularly useful for components designed to reduce vibration.

Applications include:

  • Machine feet
  • Anti-vibration mounts
  • Motor isolation components
  • Equipment pads
  • Protective spacers
  • Electronics mounts

Excellent for Grips & Handles

95A TPU can provide a softer and more comfortable surface than rigid PLA, PETG or ABS.

It is ideal for:

  • Tool grips
  • Handles
  • Knobs
  • Protective sleeves
  • Ergonomic components
  • Anti-slip surfaces

Wear & Abrasion Resistance

TPU is also known for good resistance to wear and abrasion, making it useful for parts that experience regular movement, rubbing or handling.

Examples include:

  • Flexible hinges
  • Rollers
  • Protective pads
  • Feet
  • Grips
  • Covers
  • Frequently handled components

95A TPU vs 98A TPU

Feature 95A TPU 98A TPU
Flexibility Higher Lower
Firmness Softer Firmer
Rubber-Like Feel Greater Moderate
Filament Feeding More Challenging Easier
Compression Higher Lower
Shape Retention Lower Better
Impact Absorption Excellent Excellent
Direct Drive Recommended Yes Yes

Choose 95A TPU when flexibility and cushioning are the main priorities.

Choose 98A TPU when you still want flexibility but prefer a firmer part and easier filament feeding.

Printing Flexible TPU

Flexible filament requires a more controlled filament path than rigid materials.

For the most reliable results:

  • A direct-drive extruder is recommended
  • Keep the filament path short
  • Avoid excessive printing speeds
  • Use conservative retraction settings
  • Ensure the spool feeds freely
  • Store the filament dry
  • Increase print speed only once extrusion is stable

Because 95A TPU is softer than 98A TPU, it is more prone to buckling if the filament path has excessive resistance.

Moisture Management

TPU can absorb moisture from the air.

Wet filament may cause:

  • Popping during extrusion
  • Stringing
  • Rough surfaces
  • Inconsistent flow
  • Reduced layer quality

Keep the spool sealed when not in use and dry it before printing if necessary.

Ideal For

SA Filament 95A TPU is an excellent choice for:

  • Flexible covers
  • Bumpers
  • Grips and handles
  • Seals
  • Grommets
  • Bushings
  • Flexible brackets
  • Anti-vibration feet
  • Protective pads
  • Flexible connectors
  • Wearable components
  • Impact-resistant parts
  • Shock-absorbing components
  • Functional prototypes
  • Custom engineering parts

Compatible Printers

SA Filament 95A TPU can be used with compatible 1.75mm FDM/FFF 3D printers, particularly those equipped with a direct-drive extruder.

Suitable machines include many:

  • Creality K1 Series printers
  • Creality K2 Series printers
  • Creality Ender Series printers
  • Creality SPARKX Series printers
  • Bambu Lab printers
  • Other compatible direct-drive FDM/FFF printers

Important CFS / Multi-Material Note

Softer TPU such as 95A is generally not suitable for feeding through Creality CFS or CFS Lite systems because the flexible filament can buckle or jam in the longer feed path.

For the most reliable printing, feed the filament directly from the spool to the printer’s extruder.

Why Choose SA Filament 95A TPU?

SA Filament 95A TPU is ideal when you need a material that is noticeably flexible but still tough enough for practical, functional parts.

Its combination of elasticity, impact resistance, abrasion resistance and shock absorption makes it useful for everything from protective covers and grips to seals, bumpers and vibration-damping components.

For customers who want more flexibility than 98A TPU, 95A is the better choice.
